LSG Group: Change in CFO position

Wilken Bormann, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the LSG Group, will leave the company at the end of March 2023 at his own request and continue his professional career outside the Lufthansa Group. His successor will be Holger Fleige, currently Head of Controlling Passenger Airlines, Aviation Services & Group ReStructure at the Lufthansa Group.

Wilken Bormann, Holger Fleige

Wilken Bormann has been Chief Financial Officer of the LSG Group and Labor Director for the LSG Holding since March 1, 2022. During this period, he has been in charge of Human Resources, Finance and Controlling, Food Safety, Security and Infrastructure as well as Culinary. He is also responsible for the Emerging Markets region. Prior to joining the LSG Group, Wilken Bormann held various financial leadership positions at Lufthansa Technik, Lufthansa Airline and Lufthansa Group. He was CEO of the Lufthansa Hub in Munich from 2017-2020. During the Corona pandemic, he made a significant contribution to the refinancing of the Lufthansa Group.

Wilken Bormann’s major achievements at the LSG Group include his successful focus on cash management and driving the sale process of the Group since it was restarted after the pause during the pandemic.
“This is a decision that I have not made lightly,” said Wilken Bormann. “I have greatly enjoyed my tenure here at the LSG Group, particularly working with so many wonderful individuals at all levels.”

“I obviously respect that Wilken has decided to leave at this point in time and I acknowledge his reasons,” said CEO Erdmann Rauer. “At the same time, I am looking forward to welcoming Holger onboard the LSG Group and embarking together on our new journey to keep moving our company forward. With the support of his robust financial experience, we will remain focused on the future and achieving our strategic goals. Of course, we also thank Wilken for his service and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

Wilken Bormann’s successor will be Holger Fleige as of April 1st, who started his career with Lufthansa Group in 1995. Since then he has held various management positions with a strong finance background at Lufthansa, as well as within comprehensive restructuring group projects such as ReStructure and SCORE. Among other roles, Holger Fleige was the Head of Controlling Passenger Airlines & Aviation Services, Head of Eurowings Group Controlling and Head of Lufthansa’s Project Management Office (PMO) SCORE.
